Intermediate & Middle

The Middle School program at Garden Montessori is accredited by Cognia and licensed by the Tennessee Department of Education.

Fifth Through Eighth Grades

The Intermediate classroom welcomes fifth and sixth graders while the Middle School includes our seventh and eighth graders. Two licensed teachers are assigned to each group along with several special-subject teachers. Group lessons are provided for each curriculum area and supplemented with individualized instruction. In the fall of 2023, our Middle School program moved to our newly renovated house next door to the main campus. Our oldest students have enjoyed the cozy environment and have taken pride in making the space their own.

Community service is stressed in both of these programs as students have opportunities to mentor others in the school as well as help those in need throughout our Knoxville community and around the world.

These classes serve students during a time of great change and growth in their lives and strives to ground them in self-awareness, a love of discovery and a commitment to compassion in the years ahead.

“All of the teachers and staff are very kind and willing to take time to help anyone who needs help, whether it be an academic question, an issue with another student, or even helping you work out problems in your personal life. The students here are willing to stand up for each other, and bullying is very rarely an issue. There is very little homework at Garden, so students can spend time at home pursuing other activities that enrich their lives, such as sports, music, or other hobbies that they might not otherwise have time for. Garden Montessori is a very supportive, loving environment that I am happy to have been a part of.”
